Asia-Pacific Solar technology contracts activity rises 28% in February 2021

Asia-Pacific solar technology contracts in February 2021 saw 51 contracts announced, marking a rise of 28% over the last 12-month average of 40, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

Power Purchase Agreement with 23 contracts and a 45.1% share
Project Implementation: 20 contracts and a 39.2% share
Supply & Erection: seven contracts and a 13.7% share
Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 2% share.
India tops Asia-Pacific solar power contracts activity
India was the top country in the Asia-Pacific region for solar technology contracts recorded in February 2021 with 32 contracts and a 62.7% share, followed by China with four contracts and a 7.8% share and Pakistan with three contracts and a 5.9% share.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in Asia-Pacific were:

1. Andhra Pradesh Green Energy (India): 6,400MW from 12 contracts.
2. Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh Power (India): 100MW from one contract.
3. Vietnam Electricity (Vietnam): 23.2MW capacity from one contract.
