Five steps to get your building WELL certified

The WELL certification process consists of five steps. Here’s an overview of each step:

1. Registration: The first step is to register the project on the WELL Building Standard website. During this step, the project team will select the applicable WELL rating system, pay the registration fee, and provide basic project information.
2. Documentation: The next step is to gather and document all of the necessary evidence to demonstrate that the project complies with the requirements of the selected WELL rating system. This documentation must be submitted for review and verification by a WELL assessor.
3. Review: During this step, a WELL assessor will review the project documentation to ensure that it complies with the requirements of the selected WELL rating system. The assessor may request additional information or clarification from the project team.
4. Performance verification: Once the documentation has been reviewed and approved, a WELL assessor will conduct an on-site visit to verify that the project has implemented the required features and that they are functioning as intended. This on-site visit includes visual inspections and measurements of various building systems and features.
5. Certification: If the project meets all of the requirements of the selected WELL rating system, the project will be awarded WELL certification. The project team will receive a detailed report outlining the project’s performance in each category, as well as recommendations for ongoing monitoring and improvement.
