What is Mono-PERC solar technology?
The Mono PERC solar technology is recognised into activity by many solar manufacturers. PERC stands for Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell. This technology differs in term of solar architecture. However, the electrons are collected in top layer of solar cells. In PERC technology, an extra layer at the rear side of solar cell is implanted which allows to capture more electrons from solar cells.
The PERC architecture virtually enables to capture near the rear surface and to enhance electrons capture. This technology was introduced in New South Wales in 1983. The efficiency of solar cells from this technology can stand close to 25%.
The two others competing technologies were the Back Contact technology, generalized by Sunpower, and the HIT technology commercialized by Panasonic.
