Tier 1 manufacturers are the companies in the quarterly Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) and is a flat term used by sales companies and manufacturers. “Tier 1 module manufacturers are those which have provided own-brand, own-manufacture products to six different projects, which have been financed non-recourse by six several (non-development) banks, in the beyond two years.” This system is being used to figure out solar panel manufacturers in terms of financial calculability. Unfavorably, a Tier 1 ranking does not mean a panel affords the chief performance or characteristics. With utmost established panel manufacturers now rated as Tier 1, it is more absolute than ever to know how to classify a high quality and uprear panel by dissimilar means. These projects must be:
- Bigger than 1.5 MW.
- Location, capacity, developer, bank, module maker must be in the public domain.
- Any brand with financial concerns such as bankruptcy, insolvency protection or critical default on bond payment will be disconnected from the Tier 1.
- BNEF does not publish a Tier 2 or 3 list.
