Ministry is implementing a Scheme for Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects. The main objective of Scheme is to scale up setting up of solar projects in a short span of time. Under the Scheme, it is proposed to set up at least 50 solar parks targeting setting up of 40,000 MW of solar power projects by 2021-22. All the States and Union Territories are eligible for getting benefit under the scheme. The capacity of the solar parks shall be 500 MW and above. However, smaller parks are also considered in States where there is shortage of non-agricultural land. The following solar parks have been approved in the under mentioned States of NE region with a total Capacity of 113 MW in five states as given below
