Solar tariffs in 2022..

Even after introduction of 12% GST, and and surge ins the PV module and BoS prices, it was expected that the solar tariffs will increase significantly. As per the CRISIL report the tariffs were expected to surge in the range of Rs. 2.6-.27/kWh; however the bids outcomes of 2022 show still lower tariffs.. While we recorded a lowest tariff in 2020, about Rs. 1.99/kWh; there has been upward movement in the solar module prices by 50%, and about 25% in the BoS prices, however these bid results do not reflect the significant surge in the solar tariffs quoted by the bidders. The tariffs in state bids are higher as compared to the SECI bids by about Rs. 50p/kWh.. This is due to the state power off-taker payment risks. IN case of Gujarat the confidence level of investors is high as compared to the state of UP. This clearly highlights , how regulatory and off-taker payments risks are budged by the developers in their bidding strategy.  In case of PM Kusum scheme the bid results still show that the small scale ground mounted projects can be done at Rs. 3.1/kWh.
