MP Kirron Kher inaugurates solar power plants
CHANDIGARH:City MP Kirron Kher inaugurated two grid-tied solar photovoltaic power Plants- 300 kWp at the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Sector 17, and 200 kWp at the ISBT, Sector 43.
City MP Kirron Kher inaugurated two grid-tied solar photovoltaic power Plants- 300 kWp at the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Sector 17, and 200 kWp at the ISBT, Sector 43. An AC lounge at the ISBT, Sector 43, was also inaugurated by her.
Kher exhorted residents of Chandigarh to install rooftop solar plants at their houses by availing 30 per cent subsidy provided by the government for it. Santosh Kumar, CCF and Director (Science and Technology and Renewable Energy), informed that these rooftop SPV power plants had been installed by the Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST).
He said Chandigarh had already installed 9.6 MW rooftop solar plants and had a target of attaining the installation capacity of 50 MW by 2022.
On this occasion, Anurag Agarwal, Secretary of the Science and Technology Department, informed that the Administration was committed to achieve the target of 50 MW solar power by providing various incentives to the private sector.
