Bhuttico installs solar power plant

KULLU: Asia’s famous handloom co-operative society, Bhuttico, established a solar power plant at the Bhuttico complex.

Satya Prakash Thakur, chairman of Bhuttico and former minister, said the plant was setup with the help of Himurja and was the largest on-grid solar power plant in Kullu district, which could produce up to 22 KW of electricity.

Thakur said the power would be used to operate the finishing unit of Bhuttico and they were also promoting use of eco-friendly products.

“Society has taken initiative to produce solar power to suffice energy requirements of the machines used in the finishing unit,” he added.

Narayan Dutt, senior project officer of Himurja, Ayush Minhas, assistant engineer at Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB), Abhishek Sood, managing director of Maurice Solar Pvt Ltd, and office-bearers of Bhuttico were among those present on the occasion.
