The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) plays a central role in achieving the nation’s renewable energy ambitions under the National Solar Mission. To support large-scale adoption of rooftop solar across government buildings and public infrastructure, SECI partnered with Firstgreen Consulting as its technical advisor. The objective was to create a unified, scalable, and high-quality deployment framework capable of being replicated across hundreds of sites nationwide.
Firstgreen’s scope included conducting surveys across multiple locations, assessing rooftop suitability, developing system sizing methodologies, and preparing standardized tender documents. By creating uniform technical specifications, quality benchmarks, and evaluation criteria, the team ensured consistency in project execution across diverse geographical and institutional environments.
This standardization approach significantly accelerated SECI’s nationwide rollout of rooftop solar systems while minimizing project risks and ensuring technical robustness. The initiative enabled government agencies to streamline procurement, adopt reliable solar technologies, and achieve faster installation timelines.
Through its structured and replicable framework, Firstgreen helped SECI lay the foundation for mass adoption of rooftop solar across the public sector—contributing to India’s broader vision of clean energy transition and decentralized renewable power generation.
