DLF Cyber City Chennai Launches Zero Waste Strategy for Entire Campus

Published by Admin 1 on

DLF Cyber City Chennai (11 Blocks) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is taking a definitive step in sustainable campus operations by pursuing the highest possible certification for zero waste, TRUE Platinum. This major initiative by DLF aims to achieve Total Resource Use and Efficiency (TRUE) by implementing comprehensive zero waste strategies across the entire 11-block office complex.

In partnership with sustainability consultants Firstgreen Consulting Pvt. Ltd., the project will follow a rigorous methodology tailored for a large campus. It commences with an in-depth waste stream analysis across all 11 blocks to identify all opportunities for reduction, reuse, and recycling. Based on these findings, unified zero waste policies will be developed and implemented, covering procurement, materials management, and staff training to achieve zero waste goals across the entire campus.

Firstgreen Consulting is managing the entire TRUE certification facilitation process, which includes overseeing all documentation, tracking performance metrics for all 11 blocks, and submitting the project for a final review to the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI). This initiative, with a project timeline of 18+ months starting from the February 5, 2025 work order date, underscores DLF Cyber City Chennai’s comprehensive commitment to leading the way in environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
