History

LAPP Group was founded by Oskar and Ursula Ida Lapp in 1957 as an ambitious family company. Over the years, the LAPP Group has gained an international reputation and renown. As the founders of a unique industrial success story, they are an example for future generations, employees and friends.

We started operations in India in 1996 by setting up state-of-the-art manufacturing unit at Jigani, Bengaluru. We were the first multi-national cable manufacturer to set up operations in India.

In 2012, LAPP India set up its second manufacturing unit at Pilukedi, Bhopal to primarily produce best-in-class electrical wires for the Building segment. These electric wires are flame retardant and halogen free and ISI certified for highest safety standards.

We further expanded our production capacity in 2014 by doubling the production area in Bengaluru and adding a new multi-core line in Bhopal with a total investment of over € 5 Million. Today, we are the third largest manufacturing facility of LAPP. Each year, we manufacture over 180,000 km of control, instrumentation, power and data cables at our facilities.

Today, LAPP India has over 300 employees to best serve customers and meet the growing demand of the business.

LAPP India is ISO 9001:2008 certified. This is an international certification awarded to companies which follow the quality management principles to improve oragnisational performance. Both our manufacturing plants in Bangalore and Bhopal and our Sales offices across the country are certified under ISO 9001:2008.

We are also certified under ISO 14001. This certification is an internationally recognized standard for Environmental Management System. The certification helps organizations minimize their impact on the environment, comply with applicable laws and regulations and work toward continual environmental improvement. Testing Facility

We have best-in-class in-house product testing facility in India. This facility is capable of handling mechanical, electrical, flame and chemical related testing. Our state-of-the art laboratory is well equipped with world-class, cutting-edge testing equipment and a highly experienced team to perform these tests.
