Published by firstgreen on

Gujarat Refinery (GR) has successfully commissioned a 400 kW grid-tied solar power plant on the rooftop of South Block Control Room in its premises. The refinery had previously commissioned 250 kW solar power plants for reducing the carbon footprint and moving towards the sustainable operations. With its third solar power plant, GR has successfully commissioned its total 650 kW grid tied solar power plant on the rooftops of various buildings of the refinery to cater partial daytime electricity requirements. The gridtied system will cater to partial electricity requirement of lighting load of South Block Control Room and substation-36 building during the daytime. The direct current power generated by the solar panels gets converted into alternate current compatible to the GR’s low tension level power system through inverters.
