Kher opens 400 kWp solar power plant at GMCH-32
CHANDIGARH: MP Kirron Kher inaugurated the 400 kWp solar photovoltaic (SPV) power plant at Government Medical College & Hospital (Block A, B, C & D), Sector 32, here in the presence of UT Adviser Manoj Parida.

The plant, installed on the rooftop of the hospital with a total cost of Rs 1.99 crore, has been executed by Chandigarh Renewable Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST). The plant will generate approximately 5.20 lakh units of electricity annually.
Kirron appreciated the efforts taken by the Administration in developing Chandigarh as a model solar city. She appreciated the lead taken by CREST in installing 32 MWp solar rooftop plants on government buildings as well as private buildings, including residential houses. The installation of new solar power plant will reduce the electricity bill of the GMCH-32 by approximately Rs 36 lakh annually.
