Requirements

- Select insulation whose R-value exceeds the requirements listed in the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), Chapter 4, or local code, whichever is more stringent.
- Do not include thermal mass or infiltration effects in the R-value calculation. Points are awarded according to Table 1.

Install the insulation to meet the Grade I specifications set by the RESNET Home Energy Rating Standard.
Installation must be verified by a qualified energy rater conducting a pre-drywall thermal enclosure inspection.
