A leading cement manufacturer in Durg, Chhattisgarh, embarked on a large-scale decarbonization initiative by developing a 40 MW captive solar power plant to meet its substantial energy requirements. Firstgreen Consulting served as the Project Management Consultant (PMC), providing comprehensive technical leadership for this industrial clean energy transition.
The project demanded meticulous planning, robust engineering validation, and seamless coordination with the cement plant’s existing power infrastructure. Firstgreen reviewed and optimized detailed engineering designs, ensuring efficient land utilization, sound structural layouts, and reliable electrical integration with the captive substation. Special attention was given to reducing transmission losses and improving long-term operational stability.
During construction, Firstgreen supervised on-ground implementation to verify quality, compliance, and safety at every stage. This hands-on oversight ensured that the solar plant was built to high engineering standards, guaranteeing durability and consistent performance over its lifetime.
The 40 MW captive solar facility now plays a transformative role in lowering the cement plant’s carbon footprint, reducing dependence on grid power, and stabilizing long-term energy costs. This project exemplifies how heavy industries can adopt clean energy at scale while enhancing operational resilience and contributing to India’s broader decarbonization goals.
