CHANDIGARH: A 150 kWp rooftop grid-tied Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant was inaugurated at Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Sector 26, here today.

A 150 kWp rooftop grid-tied Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant was inaugurated at Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Sector 26, here today.

Ashok Lavasa, Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Clime Change, inaugurated the plant.

Santosh Kumar, Director (Science & Technology), Chandigarh, said 150 kWp Rooftop SPV Power Plant had been installed by the Chandigarh Renewal Energy, Science & Technology Promotion Society (CREST).

The total cost of the project is Rs 144.35 lakh, which includes operation and maintenance charge for 10 years.

This solar power plant will be able to generate more than 1,87,500 kWh (units) of electricity per annum against the last year consumption of 3.5 lakh units.
