Kenya’s world-renowned Amboseli National Park, Ol Tukai Resort is known for its breathtaking landscapes, wildlife-rich surroundings, and strong commitment to ecological stewardship. To align its operations with its conservation-led philosophy, the resort sought a clean and reliable energy solution. Ol Tukai Resort partnered with Firstgreen Consulting Pvt. Ltd to design and deploy a robust 100 kW solar PV hybrid system integrated with a 200 kWh battery energy storage solution. This renewable energy transformation enables the resort to operate silently and sustainably, enriching the guest experience while minimizing environmental impact.
The battery storage component plays a crucial role by balancing energy flows, supporting night time operations, and reducing generator runtime dramatically. As a result, the resort enjoys uninterrupted, clean power with significantly lowered carbon emissions. Firstgreen managed the complete EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and PMC (Project Management Consultancy) scope. The system’s synchronization with both the grid and backup generators ensures operational continuity without compromising the resort’s serene environment.
The project stands as a model for sustainable tourism—demonstrating that luxury hospitality and environmental conservation can coexist harmoniously.
