Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that Kurnool district in the Rayalaseema region of the State will emerge a major industrial hub, and inaugurated a greenfield airport at Kurnool and a mega solar energy.

After inaugurating the two major projects park recently, Naidu said the airport terminal, as well as the runway, were completed in record 18 months. The trial run was conducted successfully recently. Flight operations will begin in the summer.

“First, Kurnool will be linked with Amaravati, the capital, and later with Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Air connectivity will bring in greater investment to the district and the region,” he said.

He also laid the foundation stone for an industrial park near Orvakallu, where the airport is located, and later inaugurated a mega solar energy park with 1,000 MW capacity. It is said to be the third-largest solar park in the world.

Later, participating in the Janmabhoomi programme in the district, Naidu alleged “a nexus between the Prime Minister, Telangana Chief Minister and YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy” to thwart his development plans.

|“Jagan is afraid of the Prime Minister, as he is facing ten cases of corruption and the Prime Minister has kept him under his thumb. That is why Jagan is afraid of questioning the Prime Minister on the injustice done to the State,” he said.
