Nepal stands at a pivotal moment in its clean energy transition, and Dolma Energy is at the forefront of this national transformation. As a leading investor committed to accelerating sustainable development, Dolma Energy engaged Firstgreen to evaluate Nepal’s renewable energy potential through a series of bankable feasibility studies. This strategic initiative aims to unlock large-scale solar opportunities and strengthen the country’s long-term energy security.

Firstgreen conducted a comprehensive multi-site renewable energy assessment across ten diverse locations, focusing on both technical viability and financial robustness. The study identified an exceptional opportunity: a cumulative solar potential of 150 MW, supported by an additional 20 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This combined solar-plus-storage configuration positions Nepal to enhance grid reliability, reduce dependence on imported electricity, and expand clean power access across regions with challenging terrain.

The feasibility program included detailed terrain analysis, solar resource mapping, load assessments, and grid evacuation studies. Financial modeling was carried out to meet international investment standards, enabling Dolma Energy to engage confidently with global financiers such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC). These bankable studies form the backbone of upcoming investment discussions, providing clarity on capital requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and project returns.

Beyond technical validation, the initiative lays the foundation for a scalable renewable pipeline that aligns with Nepal’s national energy vision. By establishing clear renewable project pathways, Dolma Energy is enabling long-term sectoral growth and catalyzing further international interest in Nepal’s clean energy market.

This feasibility initiative is more than a technical exercise; it represents a critical stepping stone toward Nepal’s sustainable development. With strong data, robust analysis, and investment-ready outcomes, Dolma Energy’s collaboration with Firstgreen is shaping the renewable energy landscape of the Himalayan nation and paving the way for a greener, more resilient future.
