NERIM Group of Institutions is a group of Colleges established in the year 1992 by NERIM Educational Society with a view to promote specialized professional education in the North Eastern Region of the Country. These Institutions are affiliated to Dibrugarh University and Gauhati University for their various courses.  The Institution is dedicated towards imparting quality teaching and training to the future generation in skills that untie exclusive avenues of opportunities and ready employment amidst high level of unemployment and career dilemma.

Initially, we met Director and Administrative officer of NERIM group of institution, the executive head of organization in October 2017, for the Grid connected Rooftop Solar power project with subsidy under RESCO mode. We have made them understand about the viability of the project to offset the increasing bill amount of the Grid. They were very much interested for the programme. But, the final approval authority was Chairman. He hold the process till March 2018. After lots of discussion and analysis, he finally given go ahead for the project. The organization don’t need to invest single penny for the project whole cost will be worn by Govt. in form of subsidy and the Develop. As , we were empaneled with state Nodal Agency i.e.; Assam Energy Development Agency for the 14 MW grid connected RTSPV project with 70 % subsidy. In the RESCO mode the tariff were fixed @3.43/KWh for the 25 years.

After all we have signed a PPA for the period of 25 years with complete O&M under our scope. Since, in one campus they have Law and Management wing and another they have commerce section. For commerce part they have dedicated transformer and different Discom connection. We have used rooftop of commerce building for Solar installation but the termination done in 554 kW load connection on which we have approval for Solar installation.

According to the APDCL Rooftop Solar guideline max. 80 % of connected Load can we Solarize. The connected load was 554 kW which we can go for 443 kW. But max.  Plant capacity that can be installed was 230 kW due to less shadow free area, so we had installed 300 kW capacity.

The plant installation & testing work completed on 19th June, 2018 after all approval from concerned authorities.  After net metering done 0n 21st February 2019 the plant is working properly and satisfactorily. Around 25-30 % of their unit charge is reduced from the APDCL bill. Since, the rooftop solar plant capacity is less comparing to their load requirement due to shadow free area constrain.
